En iyi öğretmen nasıl olmalı? En iyi özelliği ne olmalı? Şeklinde bir yazıyı yıllar önce bloğumda kaleme almıştım. Şimdi tekrar bu soruyu Boğaziçi'nde öğretmenlik okuyan bir öğrenci bana sordu. 16 seneyi bitiren bir öğretmen olarak ilk üç sırayı, hatta ilk sıraya yeni bir madde eklemek istiyorum. Sizce ne olmalı? Gelin beraber düşünelim…

Eğer bir öğrenciyseniz. En iyi öğretmen, Sizi mutlu eden bir öğretmen veya kolay sınav yapan bir öğretmen olabilir….

Peki, benim için en iyi öğretmen nasıl olmalı? En iyi özelliği ne olmalı?

Değerli okuyucularım, bence ilk üç sıradakilerden biri öğretmenin yaratıcı özelliği olmalı. (doğuştan veya sonradan kazanılan) Öğretmen çocuklarının geleceği için bir şeyler üretmeli. Onları geleceğe taşımalı. Eğlendirirken düşündürmeli, düşündürürken zamanı sohbetle geçirmemeli! Gün sonunda öğretmen olarak kendi kendine ben bugün çocuklarıma ne katabildim diye sorduğunda aldığı yanıt bir gün daha geçti ise çok yazık olur.

O çocuklar ne bana nede sana zaman harca diye teslim edilmiyor! Lütfen eğer üretemiyorsan bari üretenlerden fikir al, alalım, alıyoruz, yeni öğretmenler zaten alacak...

Anadolu hepimizin, gelin üretelim. Üretemiyorsak üretenlere engel değil destek olalım. Eskinden bir elin parmağını geçmeyen kaynaklar varken şimdi İnternet sayesinde sayısız kaynaklar elimizin altında. Çalışalım üretelim. Üretemiyorsak taklit edelim. Taklit etmek, yeni bir şeyi sınıfımıza getirmek, uyarlamak ayıp değildir. Yanlış olan kendimizi yenilememizdir. Unutmayalım Atatürk bu nesli bize emanet etti!

Açık söylüyorum, ben ne zaman üretemem bu mesleği bırakırım. Ben ne zaman çocuklarıma kötü örnek olurum, o gün ceketimi alır giderim. Ben ne zaman öğretmen dostlarıma yardım edemezsem kalbim ah eder. Ben ne zaman çocuğumun eksiğini kapatamam o gece inan başımı yastığa koyduğumda gözüm kapanmaz. Ben ne zaman çocuklarıma hayal etmeği öğretemem ertesi gün kendimi iyi hissetmem.

Ben ne zaman sevgimi çocuğumun (öğrencimin) gözünde artık göremem işte o zaman hoşça kalın derim.

Ben öğretmenim, 1993 de girdiğim Liseler arası TÜBİTAK Bilim yarışmasından sonra yine bir ulusal yarışmaya katıldım. Bu yarışmaya sadece öğretmenler katılabiliyordu. Yeni eğitim materyal oluşturması ile ilgili İstanbul il milli eğitimin Müdürlüğü’nün açmış olduğu öğretmenlerin katıldığı bir yarışma. İlk gün Nisan ayındaydı yarışma başvuruları başladığında ülke genelinde sanırım 61 öğretmen katılmıştı diye hatırlıyorum. Yarışma başvuru son gününde ise toplam başvuru 4681 çıkmıştı. İstanbul'a yarı finale beni çağırmayacaklarını düşünsem de 1993 yılında duyduğum aynı hislerle yarışma planlamamı yaptım, araştırdım, birkaç kitap karıştırdım, geceleri çalıştım ve İç Anadolu bölgesinden okulumu temsilen yarışmaya katıldım. Karşımda 4680 kendine güvenen, üreten öğretmen vardı! Olsun kaybedeyim. Hiç önemli değil. Mutluyum çünkü kendine güvenen, üreten 4681 öğretmen ulusal bir yarışmaya katıldı. Ne mutlu ülkeme.

What should be the best feature for a teacher? I wrote a piece in the shape of my blog years ago. Now again, a student who is studying at Boğaziçi asked me this question. My dear readers, I think one of the first three ranks must be the creative feature of the teacher. All we have Anatolia, come to produce. If we cannot provide, we do not interfere with producers, let's make them support. In the past, there were sources that did not exceed one finger, thanks to the Internet, countless resources are now at hand. Let's work and produce. Let's simulate if we can't. It is not a shame to imitate, to bring something new to our class, and to adapt it. What is wrong is that we do not renew ourselves. Let us not forget, Ataturk, entrusted this generation to us!

I'm telling you clearly when I can't produce it, and I leave this job. Whenever I am a terrible example for my children, I will get my jacket and leave the place that day. Whenever I can't help my fellow teachers, my heart rats, close the gap of my child when I can't remember that night, believe me when I put my head on the pillow, and my eyes will not close. The next day I don't feel good when I can't teach my kids how to dream. When I do not see my love in the eyes of my child (my student), then I say goodbye.

I'm a teacher. I participated in a national competition after the Inter-high School Tubitak Science Competition I entered in 1993. Only teachers could participate in this competition. It is related to creating new educational material, and it is a competition attended by the teachers of the Directorate of National Education of Istanbul Province. The first day was in April when the competition applications began in the country I think 61 teachers had attended. On the last day of the competition application, the total application was 4681. Even though I thought they would not call me to Istanbul in the semi-finals, I planned my competition with the same feelings I heard in 1993, I researched, mixed a few books, worked at night and participated in the contest representing my school in Central Anatolia Region. I had 4680 confidence, producing teachers! Let me lose. Does not matter. I am happy because the 4681 self-confident teachers, producing participated in a national competition. How happy my country!

I love my country, and I love my students very much, I love my family very much...
